Radar level sensor VA23

Self-contained radar sensor with radio transmission of measured values. The radar level sensor VA23 is the ideal sensor for level measurement in IBCs and plastic containers. The device transmits a radar signal via its antenna. The emitted signal is reflected by the medium and received by the antenna as an echo. The level determined from this is converted into a corresponding output signal and transmitted wirelessly. Depending on the availability of the radio networks, the device transmits its measured values wirelessly to an LTE-M (LTE-CAT-M1) or NB-IoT (LTE-CAT-NB1) mobile network or a LoRaWAN network on the system side.

The data is forwarded or analysed via an asset management system, e.g. VEGA Inventory System.

The wetted parts of the device are made of PVDF and the sensor housing with a high degree of protection IP69 enables maintenance-free continuous operation outdoors.

The device is powered by a permanently installed primary cell. The lithium cell used for this is a compact storage unit with a high cell voltage and capacity for a long service life.

Area of application

VEGAPULS Air 23 is the ideal sensor for level measurement in IBCs and plastic containers. The instrument measures through the closed vessel ceiling and is suitable for almost all liquids and bulk solids.

VEGAPULS Air 23 can be mounted quickly using simple and secure adhesive, ceiling or tension strap mounting. As no additional power supply is required, the self-sufficient sensor offers a particularly economical solution.

The sensor housing with a high degree of protection IP69 enables maintenance-free continuous operation, even outdoors or when cleaning the vessel.
