Radar level sensor VP11

The radar level sensor VP11 is a compact sensor for non-contact level measurement of liquids and bulk solids in simple applications in a variety of industrial plants.

The device emits a continuous radar signal via its antenna. The emitted signal is reflected by the product and received by the antenna as an echo. The frequency difference between the emitted and received signal is proportional to the distance and depends on the fill level. The fill level determined in this way is converted into a corresponding output signal and output as a measured value.

The housing is made of PBT plastic and is available in protection class IP66/IP67.

Features Radar level sensor VP11

  • Measuring range: up to 8 m
  • Accuracy ±5 mm
  • Output signal: 4 ... 20 mA
  • Measuring frequency: W-band (80 GHz technology)
  • Process pressure: -1...3 bar
  • Protection class: IP66/IP67 according to IEC 60529
  • High plant availability through non-contact measurement
  • Exact measurement results independent of medium properties and process conditions
  • Maintenance-free operation due to non-contact 80 GHz radar technology

Area of application

It is particularly suitable for use in water treatment, storage tanks with acids, alkalis and auxiliary materials in all industrial sectors, or for measuring fill levels in plastic tanks from the outside through the tank wall. In bulk goods, the sensors are used in small bulk goods silos or open containers
