Column Load Cells

Column load cells in stainless steel are used where compression forces are measured, and high rated loads are required. These measuring cells are constructed in the shape of a column, whereby the force is introduced centrally. Inside the column load cell there is a metallic spring that deforms under pressure. When the force decreases, the spring returns to its original position. Strain gauges on the spring body convert the deformation into a measurement signal.
Typical applications
Areas of application for column load cells are scales in the high load range, such as silo scales, heavy-duty scales, machine scales, container scales, coil scales, force measurement during pressing, measurement of compressive force, cargo scales and force measurement on presses and punches.
