Load cells - force transducer

Bending beam load cells are suitable for filling machines, industrial floor scales, container and silo scales, belt scales, platform scales, tank scales, dosing and bagging scales, overhead conveyor scales, weighing of smaller tanks and floor scales as well as for packaging machines in the process industry.

S-type load and force load cells are suitable for use in crane scales and suspended load carriers, force measurement in materials testing machines, cranes, cable cars, tanks, and other tensile force applications. Manufactured in stainless steel and hermetically sealed and available in a large weighing range.

Shear beam load cells are mainly used for tensile and compressive forces. They are mainly used in belt scales, container scales, platform scales in the middle range, floor scales, silo scales, big bag scales, checkweighers or filling systems. Shear beam load cells are also suitable for torque and force measurement.

Compression force load cells or force transducers are typically used in tight spaces, such as: tanks, and silo weighing, CIP (clean in place) processes, SIP (sterilization in place) processes, general tests and measurements as well as machine monitoring and control.

Platform load cells (single-point load cells) resp. force load cells were specifically developed for the use in applications with high accuracy requirements. These include industrial scales, filling systems, on-board weighing, and various applications in the medical field.

The symmetrically constructed compression column load cells are used to measure compressive forces in a wide variety of industrial applications. They are very compact and deliver extremely precise and reproducible measurement results.

Octogon’s crane scales are characterized by their particularly robust construction. In addition to their high capacity for industrial weighing, ease of use and reliability, they are perfect for commercial warehouses and challenging environments.

Ring force washer or donut load cells were developed for the use in measuring and testing technology. They are used to control machines and to supervise the different operating states. Low height as well as the small outer diameter allow an easy integration.

The tension-compression load cells are miniature tension and compression load cells that are suitable for continuous or inline tension or compression applications. The push-pull rod load cells are very robust and have external threads at both ends.

Torque sensors are suitable for reliable measurements of smaller static and dynamic torques on non-rotating and rotating components in assembly technology, for quality control in production and in the laboratory, for motors and gears as well as in power measurement.

Column load cells are used where compression forces are measured, and high rated loads are required. They are typically used for: tanks, container and silo weighing, CIP (clean in place) processes, SIP (sterilization in place) processes, general tests and measurements as well as machine monitoring and control, presses and punches.

Pancake type load cells are built symmetrically and very compact. These are often used in case scales, silo scales, machine scales, container scales, special scales and for force measurements in the testing machine and process industries. They have a stainless steel construction.

The load cell with optional integrated measuring amplifier HART is for use in applications where dynamic forces have to be measured. Possible are tension, compression and tension / compression loads. The output signal is strain gauge or 4...20 mA. The load cells are available with rod ends.

For use in all ranges where weigths have to be measured, e.g. in electronic vehicle scales, in track scales, hoppers and silos in loading plants for ports and terotechnology. The pendulum base of the load cell ensures the highest accuracy in the event of thermal expansion or shrinkage.

The load cell with integrated safety measuring amplifier is for use in applications where dynamic forces have to be observed because of reasons of safety, eg for stage technology. The evaluation of the load cell has to be done with a control system which is approved for SIL3 / Performance Level „e“.

For use in all ranges where weights of silos, tanks or vessels have to be measured. The assembly allows for cell installation and removal. It is capable of lift-off prevention and has allowance for angular mis-alignment. It is tolerant of misalignment, which can often occur with silos or other metal structures.

Ring force transducers or annual load cells are made of one-piece and easy to mount. They suit nearly every installation. Hydraulic ring force transducers are an efficient solution to measure anchor forces for example. Areas of applications are screw presses, cutting tools, propeller shafts and the measurement of bolt forces
