Calorimetric flow sensor for gases

A calorimetric flow sensor for gases is a sensor in which the prevailing flow velocity is converted into a standardised electrical signal via a temperature difference using a sensor element and auxiliary energy. This signal changes in proportion to the flow velocity and can be processed further.

With octogon's flow measurement technology, even the smallest flows can be detected quickly and with high precision using the calorimetric measuring principle.

The flow sensors and flow monitors are intended for use in applications where flow is required as a trend indicator, including in air conditioning, ventilation and heating technology as well as in many industrial areas. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, fire extinguishing systems, aggregates, extractor bonnets, filter monitoring, process control, fuel cells and gas measuring stations are further examples of applications for our flow sensors.

Area of application
